Farmers market vouchers available

Through the end of October senior citizens in Mercer County can still get up to $20 per person in farmers market vouchers. Checks can be used to buy fresh fruits and vegetables from local participating farmers markets through the end of November. The program is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture and Mercer County Area Agency on Aging Inc.

Mercer County residents at least 60 years old are eligible if their income does not exceed $16,391 for a single person or $22,089 for a couple. Proof of age and residency are required; income is self-determined. Residents may receive checks only once a year.
