A Hermitage man faces assault charges in connection with a Saturday morning fight in a Brookfield bar.

William H. Clark, 27, of 98 Todd Ave. was charged Tuesday in Trumbull County Eastern District Court with assault and criminal damaging as a result of the 2:26 a.m. fight in RJ's, 759 Brookfield Ave. S.E.

Brookfield police said witnesses told them Clark fought with several bar patrons and began throwing punches when he was asked to leave and the bar owner and others attempted to kick him out. One person was punched in the mouth and a disc jockey/bouncer was bitten on the hand during the fight, police said.

After being kicked out, Clark returned and destroyed property before being kicked out again, police said. Witnesses told police he jumped into a car and took off, only to return a third time with a friend.

The two drove off when police were called, but police said they subsequently located the car and arrested Clark.

Clark and another person told police that someone hit them with a baseball bat during the bar fight. Clark was treated at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System.

Police said more charges may be filed.

A preliminary hearing for Clark is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday in Eastern District Court.
