Senior Center lists monthly activities

Greenville Senior Center at St. Paul Homes, 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, announces the following activities:

   » Prime Time Health programs designed to promote the health of older Pennsylvanians include health screenings and presentations covering a variety of physical and mental health topics.

   » Blood pressures, 11 to 11:45 a.m. second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

   » Application services available by appointment: Pennsylvania photo I.D. for licensed drivers; health care complaint forms; voter registration; PACE; property tax and rent rebates; vehicle license plates and placards for the handicapped; reduced vehicle registration fee.

   » Basic Notary services.

   » Semi-annual presentations updating Social Security and Medicare program benefits.

   » Consumer protection programs and advocacy.

   » The American Automobile Association's "Seniors for Safe Driving" classes are offered three times annually.

   » Crafts, cable TV, radio, daily newspapers, magazines, games, holiday programs and dinners, bus trips, and other recreational programs and activities.

   » Donations of new, almost new and valued items are accepted daily for the center gift shop. Proceeds help provide programs and services offered by the Senior Service Center.

The daily schedule includes:

   » Tuesday -- 11 to 11:45 a.m., Blood pressures on second and fourth Tuesdays monthly.

   » Wednesday -- Shuffleboard.

   » Friday -- 1 to 4 p.m., 500 card party with required reservations.

Anyone 60 or older regardless of geographic location of residence is eligible to participate.

Reservations for lunch must be made in advance by phoning or stopping by. Information: (724) 588-3155.

Transportation is available to the center. Reservations must be made by 2 p.m. the day before the service is needed. Call Mercer County Community Transit at (800) 222-8797.
