Mary Gadola Retiree had worked for Sharon businesses Mary Gadola of 601 Victory Drive in Sharpsville passed away peacefully at 7 a.m. Thursday (10-24-02) in her home after an extended illness. She was 90. Miss Gadola was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Cleveland, a daughter of Pasquale and Frances Nucissa Gadola. She worked for 18 years at the former Quaker Dry Cleaning in Sharon as a manager and later worked for Butler Wick Co. in Sharon, where she was a teletype operator for 21 years, retiring in 1982. Miss Gadola was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart in Sharon. Miss Gadola also belonged to AARP. She leaves two sisters, Josephine and Verna J. Gadola, both at home; and two brothers, Chester F. and Patrick R. Gadola, both Hermitage. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Guy, Phillip and Francis Gadola; and two sisters, Frances Gadola and an infant sister. GADOLA Gerald 'Jerry' V. Krajcovic South Py retiree had worked in Sharpsville Gerald "Jerry" V. Krajcovic, 1735 Buckeye Drive, South Pymatuning Township, passed away unexpectedly at 4 p.m. Wednesday (10-23-02) in the emergency room of UPMC Horizon, Farrell. He was 71. Mr. Krajcovic was born Dec. 17, 1930, in Farrell, a son of Vendel Krajcovic and Mary Bator Krajcovic. A lifelong area resident, he attended St. Ann's Parochial School and moved to his current home on July 24, 1956. He retired as a patternmaker from Shenango Ingot in Sharpsville, where he had been employed for 40 years. He also had been employed at Alex Oris' Sharon Pattern Works and at the Ship's Wheel, both in Sharpsville. Jerry was a member of Church of Notre Dame in Hermitage and a former member of St. Ann's Church in Farrell. He recently had been attending Miracle Valley Church in Hermitage. An outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed archery, woodworking, photography and metal detecting. His greatest joy, however, was time spent with his family, particularly his three grandchildren. Surviving are: his wife, the former Joyce Parrish, whom he married June 23, 1956, in St. Ann's Church, Farrell; one daughter, Mrs. Gregory (Lisa Marie) Whelan, Sharpsville; one sister, Madalyn "Mudge" Smith, Benton Harbor, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Kierra and Keely Whelan. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, including twin infant brothers, Peter and Paul; and Carl, Anthony and Michael; and an infant sister, Catherine.
KRAJCOVIC Pamela J. Trump Manfredi Homemaker lived in Coolspring Township A funeral service will be held Saturday for Pamela J. Trump Manfredi, 117 N. Mills Road, Coolspring Township. She died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, Oct. 23, 2002, in her residence after a brief illness. She was 42. Mrs. Manfredi was born Jan. 26, 1960, to Thomas T. Trump and Deloris J. Bartholomew Trump. She was a secretary for Stallion Supply Co. Inc. in Mercer. A full-time homemaker, Mrs. Manfredi was a member of Fredonia Presbyterian Church. Her husband, Nick Manfredi Jr., whom she married Dec. 16, 1989, survives at the residence. Also surviving are: a daughter, Adrienne M. Manfredi; and a son, Nicholas Manfredi III, both at the residence; her mother, Deloris J. Trump, Fredonia; a sister, Sandra, wife of John Kearns, Sheakleyville; a brother, Thomas T. Trump Jr. and his wife Eileen, Greenville; and a father-in-law, Nicholas Manfredi Sr., Mercer. Mrs. Manfredi was preceded in death by her father, Thomas T. Trump, who died in 1997; and her mother-in-law, Louise J. Manfredi.
MANFREDI John Lawrence Hunter Avid barbershop singer had daughter in Sharpsville John Lawrence Hunter, formerly of Bethel Park and Bridgeville, both Pennsylvania, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 17, 2002, in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. He was 95. Mr. Hunter was born July 10, 1907, in West Alexander, Pa., to Robert A. and Alice Craft Hunter. A dairy farmer, he completed farm animal management courses in agriculture in 1925 at what was Pennsylvania State College and was a member of the Jersey Cattle Club of America. He was a sales manager at Pascoe Farm Industrial Co., Oakdale, Pa., and an oil- and gas-well leaser for Haddad and Brooks, Washington, Pa. The member of the Keystone Chorus of the Pittsburgh South Hills Chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America was chosen Barbershopper of the Year for his efforts to support the art. In his early years, he was a lead singer in a quartet. As a 54-year member of Bethel (Park) Presbyterian Church, he served as an elder and on the session, where he was elected as a church pillar. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite shriner at the Pittsburgh Consistory and a 54-year member of Free and Accepted Masons Bethel Lodge 761, Bethel Park. He belonged to Bethamas Club; and the Bethel Park Retired Men's Club, for which he was a past president. He loved spending time with his family and friends, playing his banjo, dancing and singing and helping others. His wife, the former Helen Elizabeth North, to whom he was married for 61 years, died in 1997. Surviving are: a daughter, Natalie Hunter Macosko and her husband, Cy, Sharpsville; a grandson, Michael Lawrence Hunter and his wife, Sue, Mount Holly, N.C.; three granddaughters, Armella Hunter DiOrio and her husband, Dr. Christopher DiOrio, Columbia, S.C.; Alida Hunter, Charlotte, N.C.; and Kristen Macosko Dennis and her husband, William, Cochranton; four great-grandchildren, Bailey and Elizabeth Hunter, Mount Holly; Ryan Dennis, Cochranton; and Gabriella DiOrio, Columbia; and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Hunter, wife of Lawrence. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence North Hunter, who died in 1998; a sister, Isadore McConn; and a brother, William Hunter. HUNTER Andrew S. Cunningham Sharon Steel retiree, WWII vet served in WM church Andrew S. Cunningham, 541 Bedford Road, Shenango Township, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2002, in The Overlook nursing home, New Wilmington, after a short illness. He was 82. Mr. Cunningham was born May 8, 1920, in Kittanning, Pa., to Raymond S. Cunningham and Hattie McGinnis Cunningham. He was employed for 35 years at the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant, retiring in June 1985. As a member of Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, Mr. Cunningham served as a trustee and an elder. He also belonged to West Middlesex Kiwanis Club. An Army veteran, he served during World War II in the European theater. His wife, the former Betty Jane Porter, whom he married in Nov. 15, 1940, died Aug. 13, 2001. Surviving are: two daughters, Andrea Fleet, Sharon; and Betsy, wife of Dino Saines, New Castle; one son, Douglas and Cindy Cunningham, West Middlesex; two sisters, Vista, wife of Michael Csir; and Dorothy, wife of Vern Avery; and one brother, Pete Cunningham, all Kittanning; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mr. Cunningham was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Myrna Smith; and a brother, Arthur Cunningham. Memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Church of West Middlesex, 3082 W. GRAHAM Alice M. Hittle Alice M. Hittle, 23 First St., Fredonia, died at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday (10-23-02) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, following a period of failing health. She was 77. Obituary information was incomplete.
