Sereday hired to demolish 20 dilapidated buildings

FARRELL -- A Masury company has been hired to demolish 20 abandoned and dilapidated buildings in Farrell.

Richard Sereday Excavating, Masury, submitted a bid of $49,700, which was $200 less than the one tendered by Crump's Hauling and Excavating, Hubbard.

Council awarded the contract pending a legal review of the bid documents.

The city will use Community Development Block Grant funds for the work.

Set to be demolished are buildings at: 738 Beechwood Ave.; 631, 901, 1042 Spearman Ave.; 618 and 1114 Darr Ave.; 327, 335, 634, 909 and 1145 Fruit Ave.; 915 Roemer Blvd.; 716 Hamilton Ave.; 1101 Federal St.; 718 Emerson Ave.; 619 and 1119 Wallis Ave.; 317 and 319 Florida St.; and 320 Idaho St.
