For 9th year in a row, no tax hike
Clark council placed its $205,657 budget on display Tuesday. The public has 30 days to examine the spending plan.
For the ninth year in a row, taxes will hold steady at 9.667 mills, or 29 mills before the tax assessment ratio change last year. One mill goes toward the fire department, said Mayor Douglas Bradley. A mill is $1 for every $1,000 of assessed property value; assessments are based on 1970 market values.
At 9.667 mills, a property owner with a home assessed at $30,000 would owe $290 in property taxes to the borough.
Each mill represents about $6,000 to the borough, Bradley said.
The budget is available for viewing at the municipal building on Winner Road. Council expects to approve the final budget at its Dec. 3 meeting.
