Tour of churches, Christmas concert set

Sharpsville Area Historical Society will host a church tour from 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7.

The following Sharpsville-based churches will be featured:

   » Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 855 Woodland Road.

   » First Baptist Church, 185 Union St.

   » First Presbyterian Church, 603 W. Ridge Ave.

   » First United Methodist Church, 148 E. Shenango St.

   » Sharpsville Pentecostal Holiness Church, 240 Church St.

   » St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave.

   » Second Baptist Church, 10 Walnut St.

   » Sharpsville Church of the Nazarene, 804 Ridge Ave.

   » West Side Baptist Church, 17 E. Main St.

Refreshments and a Christmas concert, featuring Frank Stearns' Recorder Group, will follow after the tour in Chloe Pierce Community Chapel, 131 N. Mercer Ave. in Sharpsville.

After the concert, the society will showcase a 10-foot breakfront donated by Darlene Kizima and Shannon Kizima-Jewell.

This original circa 1910 piece was built into the dining room of the W.H. Hazen home on 10th Street in Sharpsville. The Kizima and Jewell families are renovating the home and donated the piece in memory of Anatonia Olcosky, their mother and grandmother, respectively. Tickets will be available at 2 p.m. on the day of the tour in Chloe Pierce Community Chapel. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and younger.
