Judge continues case
of accused embezzler

The case against a 35-year-old Brookfield man accused of embezzling more than $650,000 from his former employer was continued Tuesday in Trumbull County Court.

Attorney Phil Vigorito, who represents Robert "R.P." Mild, told Judge Andrew Logan he hasn't received any of the discovering documents that were supposed to be submitted to him for the case.

Vigorito said both he and Assistant Prosecutor Chuck Morrow have been trying to meet but, for several reasons, have not.

Morrow said some of those documents Vigorito needs are being stored at the Trumbull sheriff's office.

Logan continued the case to 8 a.m. Dec. 17.

Mild, of 7090 Stewart-Sharon Road, was fired in August for unrelated reasons from Kirila Contractors in Brookfield, where he had worked for 10 years. After his termination, Kirila accountants performed an audit, which showed discrepancies in financial records. Mild, who pleaded innocent, was indicted on 21 charges: forgery, 17 counts of money laundering and three counts of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.
