Prayer service

at site where
boy, 14, died

A prayer service will be held today for Johnathan D. Yensick at the site of his fatal car accident.

The service, organized by friends of Johnathan's family, will be held at 5 p.m. on Standard Avenue in Brookfield.

Johnathan, 14, of 7800 Elm St., Masury, died early Monday in St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown, from multiple internal injuries he suffered in a one-car accident Sunday night.

Ohio Highway Patrol said the eighth-grader at Brookfield Middle School was driving northbound on Standard Avenue when the car slid on wet pavement, left the right side of the road and hit a utility pole and a railroad crossing sign.

First Energy Corp. said the car sheared the pole at Standard and Oak Street.

Police said Johnathan took his mother's car. She told police she thought he had left on his bicycle.

Funeral information on page B-6.
