Salvation Army canteens roll out

The Salvation Army has wrapped up its disaster assistance efforts at the scene of the Nov. 10 tornado in the Clark area.

Disaster assistance, however, is still available through the Sharon Worship Service Center, 660 Fisher Hill, by calling Maj. Ted Slye at (724) 347-5537.

Nearly 5,500 meals and 912 hours of volunteer support services were provided to victims and rescue workers.

The army covered the insurance deductibles for 10 families who lost homes or whose homes sustained more devastating damage. Sixteen nights of temporary lodging were provided.

The relief operation is under the jurisdiction of the Sharon and Greenville Corps.
