Dresel drums a 'Boogie Woogie Christmas'

Sharon native Bernie Dresel will be all over television as the drummer for the Brian Setzer Orchestra this holiday season.

The band will play Wednesday during a prime time edition of "The Today Show," which will feature the tree-lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center, New York.

The next morning, the band will be on "Live With Regis and Kelly."

The regular morning version of "The Today Show" will feature the band Dec. 6.

"Late Night With Conan O'Brien" will host the band Dec. 12, and the show will be rebroadcast Dec. 13 on the Comedy Channel.

The band revs up "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" Dec. 19.

Dresel will play Dec. 15 at Kennedy Center for the presidential Christmas show, which will be taped for airing at another time.

In between those appearances, the Setzer band is touring to support "Boogie Woogie Christmas," which was released Oct. 22.

The album sports 12 songs, including "Winter Wonderland," "Blue Christmas," "Baby, It's Cold Outside" -- with Ann-Margret -- "O Holy Night" and "The Nutcracker Suite."

The Japanese version of the album has an extra cut.

The band's version of "Jingle Bells" is on the soundtrack to "The Santa Clause 2."

The band's previous brush with Christmas was to contribute four songs to the movie "Jingle All the Way."
