Man hurt in post-tornado cleanup wreck improving

The condition of a Greenville man who was injured Nov. 18 in a two-vehicle accident has improved, a hospital spokesperson at UPMC Horizon, Greenville, said Saturday.

Jack Mayer, 73, was stable in satisfactory condition, the spokesperson said. Since the accident Mayer's condition was listed as critical.

Mayer was injured when his van ran into a Delaware Township municipal vehicle at North Hermitage Road and Wynwood Drive in South Pymatuning Township, police said. The township truck, which was parked on the side of the road, was being used by a crew cleaning up debris from the Nov. 10 tornado, police said.
