An Ellwood City woman died Monday after a one-car crash Monday afternoon in Mercer, police said.

Della Jean Pellicano, 69, died at United Community Hospital, Pine Township, borough police said.

Police said Ms. Pellicano's northbound car drifted off Erie Street and hit a steel pipe at 12:40 p.m.

Mercer East End volunteer firefighters pulled Ms. Pellicano from her vehicle.
