Man found dead in local hotel room

A 44-year-old former New Castle man was found dead Tuesday in his room at the Radisson Hotel of Sharon, Shenango Township, said Mercer County Coroner J. Bradley McGonigle III.

Robert Everett Russelburg was pronounced dead at 1:15 p.m. by McGonigle, and had been dead about a day.

A housekeeping employee found the body, McGonigle said.

An autopsy was performed on the body Tuesday evening by forensic pathologist Dr. Eric Vey of Erie, but McGonigle said he has not made a ruling in the death. No cause of death could readily be determined, and toxicology tests are being performed, he said.

Foul play is not suspected, McGonigle said.

Police referred calls to McGonigle.
