The man who Sharon police said was shot at his home several days ago was also shot in Farrell earlier this year.

Wade Massey, 30, of 497 Davis St., Sharon, was shot in the upper shoulder by an unknown man at 5:06 p.m. Friday, police said.

Massey told police he heard a knock at the door, opened it and had a brief conversation with the man who then pulled out a gun, fired one shot and ran.

The shooter got into a light colored or gray minivan that drove north on Lafayette Avenue, police said.

Massey claimed he was shot in the left index finger by an unknown assailant Jan. 3 in Farrell. Massey told police he was driving when a man standing on the corner flagged him down. Massey said he stopped his car, the man demanded money and pulled a gun.

The gun fired when Massey tried to push it away, he told police.

Southwest Mercer County Regional Police said Massey gave a general description of the man but no arrest was ever made.

Massey described the man who shot him Friday as black, about 6 feet tall and weighing 220 to 240 pounds. The man had a mustache and was wearing a black ski jacket with orange stripes down the arms, baggy blue jeans and a dark stocking cap.

After the shooting Massey was able to walk to the ambulance by himself, police said. He was taken to the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System and then transferred to St. Elizabeth Health Center, Youngstown. A hospital spokes person said he was discharged Saturday.

Police said it is unknown if Massey knows the shooter.

Several neighbors reported hearing a bang at the time of the shooting. Two neighbors said they saw the man get into the van and drive away.

Anyone with information about the shooting can call the Sharon police at (724) 983-3210.
