2 plead guilty in drug case, 3rd man headed to court

Only one of three Sharon men who appeared Tuesday before District Justice James E. McMahon, Sharon, will have to appear in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.

John David Mullen, 22, of 308 Layfayette Ave., stipulated charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver, criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia could go to court.

During a Weed and Seed search warrant of Mullen's home on Dec. 2, police said they found cocaine, marijuana, drug-packaging material, $437 and Inositol -- a substance used to cut cocaine to bulk up its weight for sale.

Also arrested in the search were Robert T. Sternthal III, 21, and Michael J. Habbyshaw, 21, both also of 308 Layfayette Ave.

Sternthal pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance and was fined $300 and costs and sentenced to 1 year of state probation. He had marijuana on him at the time of the arrests, police said.

Habbyshaw pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia for having a marijuana pipe. He was fined $200 and costs and sentenced to a year of state probation.
