A Farrell man has been arrested in the Sept. 25 shooting of Daniel Dragicevic in the city.

Chinello A. "C-Lo" Blaski, 22, of 525 Spearman Ave., was arrested Friday on charges of aggravated and simple assault, burglary, reckless endangerment, attempted robbery and a firearms violation, police said.

Blaski entered Dragicevic's home at 504 Beechwood Ave., at about 9:30 p.m., holding a chrome-plated pistol, and demanded that Dragicevic take him to his safe.

Police said they have not determined how Blaski knew Dragicevic had a safe, adding that Dragicevic reported he does not know Blaski.

Dragicevic, who did not want to wake his girlfriend, led Blaski to the basement, police said. When Blaski saw that there wasn't a safe, he fired a single shot, hitting Dragicevic in the left thigh, police said.

Dragicevic, 25, was treated at UPMC Horizon, Farrell, police said.

A .25-caliber shell casing was found in the room, police said.

Dragicevic and Blaski went back upstairs to the safe, police said. Dragicevic opened the safe, which contained personal papers, but nothing of interest to Blaski, police said.

Dragicevic lost track of Blaski and, when police arrived, no one was sure if Blaski still was inside, police said. The house and a neighboring one were searched.

Some neighbors were evacuated briefly, police said.

An informant identified Blaski as a suspect, and Dragicevic identified Blaski as the shooter from a photo lineup, police said.

Blaski was living at a halfway house in Sharon at the time of the shooting, police said. He was on parole after serving a jail term on robbery charges from Erie, where he is from, police said.

Blaski was arraigned by District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, and returned to the State Regional Correctional Facility, Findley Township, where has been held on a parole detainer.

A preliminary hearing is set for 11:45 a.m. Jan. 3.
