Task force will share findings about deficit

One of the founders of the Reynolds Area School District Taxpayer Task Force on Wednesday encouraged the board, all district employees, residents and even students to attend its Jan. 25 public presentation on the task force's findings.

The presentation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. in the large group instruction room at Reynolds Junior-Senior High School, said Frank O'Malia.

O'Malia and Condit North formed the task force in September to research and explain to residents what led to the district's $2 million deficit last year. The task force examined the district's budgets, annual financial reports, audit reports, loans, budgetary reserve and pupil enrollment from the last seven to 10 years.

"The members have put in quite an effort," O'Malia said, adding that he's hoping for a good turnout.

O'Malia also said he wanted to thank Superintendent Dr. Anthony Trosan for his cooperation with the task force.

Compact discs and floppy discs with the task force's Power Point presentation will be available to the public at the presentation, O'Malia said.

The district encompasses Pymatuning, Delaware and West Salem Townships, Transfer and Fredonia.
