2 teenagers accused of sex assault on 15-year-old

Two Sharon teenagers -- one of them the son of a school board member -- were arrested at Sharon High School Friday afternoon for allegedly sexually assaulting another teenage boy last month.

The incident occurred Dec. 29 when Stephen Zolnier, 18, of 544 Wengler Ave., and a 15-year-old boy were at the Spruce Avenue home of a 17-year-old boy, police said. The trio began wrestling and Zolnier and the 17-year-old tied the third boy's hands and feet together, police said.

Once the teen was tied, Zolnier and the other boy "indecently assaulted him" with a glow stick, police said.

Zolnier, who is a son of Sharon school Director Kathy Hall, was arraigned before District Justice James E. McMahon, Sharon, on charges of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint, indecent assault and criminal conspiracy. He was released after posting $50,000 bond, police said.

The 17-year-old was placed in a juvenile detention center and will be petitioned to Mercer County Juvenile Court on the same charges, police said.
