3 plead not guilty to child pornography

Three people, including a Pine Township man, have pleaded not guilty to a four-count indictment charging them with child pornography and other crimes.

Richard Carroll, 37, of 447 Irishtown Road, entered his plea Monday during his arraignment, and Gerald E. Goebert, 48, and Sharon Dorsch, 42, both of Pittsburgh, entered their pleas Tuesday, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Brysh, Pittsburgh

Carroll was ordered held in custody until trial, and Goebert waived a detention hearing, agreeing to be held until trial.

The U.S. Attorney's Office did not seek detention of Ms. Dorsch, and she was released on her own recognizance, Brysh said.

The case has been assigned to U.S. District Court Judge William Standish.

Carroll, Goebert and Ms. Dorsch were indicted Friday on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, possessing child pornography, failing to notify authorities of a felony and accessory after the fact.

According to the indictment, Carroll sexually molested and took nude photographs of a minor between December 1999 and May 2000 in Pittsburgh.

The minor, whose gender has not been released, was between the ages of 11 and 13 during that time, Brysh said.
