Semiconductor plant could create 3,000 jobs
Gov. Edward Rendell has confirmed that a company that could create up to 3,000 jobs is looking at locating in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County.
The West Coast company is eyeing 200 acres off King's Chapel Road to build a semiconductor plant.
Rendell would not name the firm, but said much of the discussion of its needs has been in Harrisburg since the state would have to put up millions of dollars to make it happen.
A ramp from state Route 60 and utility lines would have to be built.
The site is in a Keystone Opportunity Zone, which offers local and state tax breaks.
