Cars must be moved off street for plowing
Greenville Mayor Clifford B. Harriger declared a snow emergency for the borough Monday.
At police request, residents who park their cars on the street must move them within three hours of being asked or face citations or a tow, said Greenville-West Salem Township Police Chief Tom Strahler.
The borough's snow plows went out at 3 a.m. Monday to start work on the streets, Strahler said.
Cars parked on streets create obstacles for the snow plows, Strahler said.
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh reported up to 7 inches of snow fell in the area Sunday night and Monday morning.
Harriger said more snow is expected, and the emergency would be in effect until further notice.
