Clerk of Courts Kloos will seek Re-Election

Kathleen M. Kloos of Sharon has announced she will again seek the Democratic nomination for Mercer County Clerk of Courts, Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans Court. She has held the post since 1996.

"I am proud to say that I have been able to administer my offices without increased staffing to date, even though we're burdened with heavier caseloads than ever," Mrs. Kloos said, crediting her "hard-working staff" with the success in keeping up with the caseloads and state mandates.

Mrs. Kloos' office is where criminal cases, juvenile cases, children and youth cases, estates, guardianships, adoptions, marriage licenses and various miscellaneous matters are filed.

While in office, Mrs. Kloos and her staff have been microfilming records. To date they have microfilmed case files spanning 52 years of juvenile and youth cases. Criminal files have never been microfilmed in Mercer County, she said, adding she intends to start microfilming those records soon.

Mrs. Kloos earns $49,952.

Mrs. Kloos is a lifelong resident of Mercer County and a 1972 graduate of Grove City High School.

She is married to Michael C. Kloos, formerly of Findley Township, who owns a construction business. They have two daughters, Ashley, 19, and Jaime, 16.
