SHARON -- Raymond Fabian has announced he will not seek a seventh term on Sharon City Council.
Fabian has served a record 24 years on council, including three terms as president. Fabian has been the president of the Shenango Valley Shuttle Service for more than 20 years. He is on the executive board of the National League of Cities' Environment, Energy and National Resources Committee. Additionally he is a trustee of the Shenango Valley Community Library.
Fabian, 56, a Penn State graduate, is a teacher at West Hill Elementary School. Fabian cited two reasons for his decision: First, he plans to spend next summer in Europe and can't do that as an elected official. Second, he may retire within the next five years and move to Virginia. Fabian said he does not want to begin a term and not finish it.
