Police arrest a third person in assault case

A third person has been arrested on charges of beating Adonis Clinkscale at 1:44 a.m. Sunday in Farrell.

Demar A. Claiborne, 19, of 389 Emerson Ave., Farrell, was arrested Tuesday on charges of aggravated and simple assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

A policeman on patrol saw three men punching and kicking Clinkscale in the roadway of the 900 block of Spearman Avenue, Farrell, police said.

Justin E.W. Odem, 18, of 310 Fruit Ave., Farrell, had a disagreement with Clinkscale when they were at a house party in the 900 block of Spearman, police said.

Clinkscale, who suffered a broken nose, an eye injury and cuts and bruises, left the party and was attacked from behind by Clinkscale and others, police said.

Odem and a juvenile were arrested at the scene. Odem was charged with aggravated and simple assault and disorderly conduct, police said. A petition has been filed in Mercer County Juvenile Court against the juvenile, police said.

Clinkscale identified Claiborne, police said.

Clinkscale was treated at the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System, police said.

Claiborne was arraigned Tuesday before District Justice Henry J. Russo, Hermitage, and released on his own recognizance. A preliminary hearing for Claiborne and Odem was set for 11:30 a.m. next Wednesday.
