Man accused of not letting woman out
of his truck

A man forced a woman to remain in his car as he drove her from Sharon to Jamestown to his Hermitage home, Sharon police said.

John Pawluk, 37, of 100 Greenwood Drive, was having domestic problems with a 35-year-old Hermitage woman, and she agreed to meet with him, police said. The woman met Pawluk in a parking lot in the 700 block of East State Street, and he got into his pickup, police said.

When the woman decided she wanted out of the car, Pawluk restrained her and drove off with her in the car, police said. He drove from Sharon to Jamestown and then to his home, police said.

Pawluk wanted the woman to get out of the pickup at his home but she refused, police said. At that time, both the Sharon and Hermitage police arrived at Pawluk's home, police said.

A passerby saw Pawluk's pickup, suspected something was wrong and called 911, police said.

Pawluk was charged with unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct, police said.
