U.S. Route 62 widening project has begun

Work has begun on a $1.8 million upgrade of U.S. Route 62 between Stambaugh and Smith avenues in Sharon. The road is called Connelly Boulevard in the city.

There will be daytime restrictions over the next few weeks. Once drainage work is complete, lane closures will remain in place overnight until the project is completed in August.

Resurfacing; widening; adding turning lanes, curbing, signals and a center concrete median barrier are part of the work being done by Sharon Paving Inc.

Motorists should drive with their headlights on and be alert for flags and workers.
