Reynolds artists top
high school show

Valley Arts Guild's 18th annual High School Art Show is running through March 28 at the gallery at 10 Vine Ave.

James O'Malley of Struthers, Ohio, judged the 66 entries from nine schools.

"It was a pleasure having the opportunity to judge all this wonderful work," said O'Malley, who has had several shows at the guild. "I wish I could have given everyone an award."

Awards presented were:

   » Best Overall School: Reynolds Area High School.

   » Best of Show -- The Herald Award: Zachary Parent from Mathews High School for "Chewy."

   » First Place -- Jerry and Bea Tallarico Award: Lindsay Kehoe from Sharpsville High School for "Untitled."

   » Second Place -- George and Josephine Gustovic Award -- Sheila Struthers from Reynolds High School for "November Rain."

   » Third Place -- Paul and Judith Achre Award: Joel Davis from Reynolds High School for "Tiger."

   » Judge's Award -- Harshaw's Real Estate: Rory Myers from Reynolds High School for "First Halloween."

   » Photography Award: Jessica Saul from Reynolds High School for "Puss 'N' Boot."

   » Most Creative Award: Corey Watson from Grove City High School for "Untitled."

   » Philly Award: Phil King from Grove City High School for "Untitled."

   » William Dunsmore Award: Steve Beinhart from Keystone Charter School for "Animal Patterns."

   » James and Joyce O'Malley Award: Samantha Ray from Sharon High School for "Paint Can."

   » Beth Long Award: Cory Robertson from Mathews High School for "Lassie."

   » Harry and Natalie Jubelirer Award: Lana Ruffo from Sharpsville for "Torn."

   » Tom and Betty Perjol Award: Dan Mackey from Sharon High School for "Untitled."
