Co-owner Lukes RC Planes
Did you know that nestled
inside Brookfield Video in
Brookfield you will find a
true passionate hobbyist by
the name of Luke Simion.
Luke is the owner of
Lukes RC Planes and pro-
motes the hobby of radio
control planes and helicop-
ters to it’s fullest. Luke,
along with his wife, Sue, and
son Jason attend almost
every radio control air show
from Georgia to New York,
always reaching out to find
out what is new and wanted
in the RC business.
Even with the downturn of
the economy, Luke has
learned that the average per-
son still needs an escape
from everyday hassles, and
that is where Lukes RC
Planes comes in handy. Stop
in Lukes RC Planes and be
amazed by what is now avail-
able in electric powered RC
planes and helicopters.
Keeping up with all the
new products is an endless
job, with new hobby items
coming out at least every 2
weeks. The store carries hel-
icopters starting at $45 and
planes ready to fly from $79.
Luke’s also carries a full line
of parts for everything they
sell. The store doesn’t carry
radio controlled cars in
stock, but is
able to or-
der almost
a n y t h i n g
you want at
great prices.
If you haven’t stopped in
lately to see what is new,
please stop in. Luke spon-
sors indoor flying at the
Buhl Community Recreation
Center every Sunday morn-
ing from 8:30 to 11 am.
Brookfield Video has been
a family run video store for
26 years, with Sue Simion
taking over the reigns six
years ago after owning Video
Express in Hubbard for 13
years.
Keeping up with the trend
of video, Brookfield Video
carries a large selection of
Blu-Ray along with regular
DVDs. Having to keep up
with Redbox and Netflix is a
hard fight, but aggressive
rental pricing has helped this
mom and pop store to com-
pete.

Owner, Bennie’s Comics
and Cards
From day one, as the own-
er of Bennie’s Comics and
Cards in Sharon, I’ve been
on the go. Whether I’m
heading to a comic book
convention, or just to view a
collection in the next town
over, I just can’t sit still.
I started his career as a
artist, working in the comic
book industry. I travel to var-
ious cities to promote my
books which became a way
for me to network with other
artists, publishers, as well as
grown my personal collec-
tion. Now as a store owner, I
still take time to travel to
conventions all over the
country.
Meeting new people and
seeing new things interests
me as much as checking out
the comic books I want to
read.
In the past, I’ve been to
New York, Chicago, Cleve-
land, Pittsburgh, Baltimore,
Columbus, and the grand-
daddy of all comic conven-
tions, the San Diego Comic
Con. This coming year, look
for me to
make more
trips.
I’m really
e x c i t e d
about going
back to the Pittsburgh Com-
ic Con in April. Stan Lee will
be there and I can’t wait to
see him again.
Big trips are nice, but I
like short trips too. I love go-
ing to find hidden treasures
that people might have
stashed away in their attics,
closets, or basements. Some
people might not even know
if something has any value.
I’m here to help educate as
well as help make people
some money. In this econo-
my, who wouldn’t.
I’ve been the owner of
Bennie’s Comics and Cards
for nine of its 29-year history.
I would love to help you with
your collection of comic
books, sports cards, or toys.
Give me a call at 724-347-
3390.

Cards, 462 Sharpsville Ave.,

By Diana Burrell-Shipton
Owner, Diana’s Gift Shop
If we’re smart, we use the
past to help us to plan our
future.
That’s our philosophy at
Diana’s Gift Shop, 6177
Youngstown-Hubbard Road,
Hubbard Township.
I learned from my four
grandparents and my dad
that we should work hard,
be honest, have a place for
everything, and leave things
better than we find them.
The greatest lesson I’ve
learned from my mom,
who’s been battling cancer
for 14 years, is to stay posi-
tive and never quit. You will
want to – but as long as
there is hope, keep going.
How does all of this relate
to business?
Perfectly!
The worse the economy,
the harder I work.
We like our customers,
are honest with them and
treat them as family.
We try to keep our store
neat and have wider walk-
ways because many folks
use a cane to get around.
We are avid recyclers and
work with the other two
businesses in our little plaza
to avoid waste and help our
local economy by referring
c u s t ome r s
to each oth-
er.
We are
“ H u b b a r d
Ohio Gift
Shop” on Facebook.
We offer layaway and
have everything from fun to
practical and new to vintage
including handmade items
and natural products.
We always try to improve
to better serve our cus-
tomers.
The economy here has
made it tough to get our gift
shop started, but I am doing
this for my mom and for our
customers who need us.
Mom has been collecting
vintage jewelry, glassware,
and other collectibles for
years and had a booth at Val-
ley View in Brookfield – all
the while dealing with life’s
issues.
We all may want to give
up at times due to the econ-
omy or health but as long as
there is hope, keep going!
Hours: Noon to 5 p.m.
Wednesday and Sunday, 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Fri-
day and Saturday; closed
Monday and Tuesday.
