Dr. Roger A. Hawkins, 18 Windsor Drive, Hempfield Township, died unexpectedly Thursday of an apparent heart attack. He was 69.

Robert L. Hogue

Retired carpenter lived in South Shenango Twp.

Robet L. Hogue, South Shenango Township, Crawford County, died at 6 a.m. Thursday in his home following a lengthy illness. He was 72.

Mr. Hogue was born March 26, 1928, in Boyers to Hester Osborne.

He was a retired carpenter for a local union.

Mr. Hogue belonged to Forestville United Methodist Church.

He belonged to the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1579, Grove City; and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1895, Grove City.

Surviving are: two daughters, Judy A. McFeaters and Terry Lee Hogue, both Forestville; a son, Robert E., Phillipsburgh, Mont.; and eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Val Jean Spence.

Margaret S. Jerome

Ex-WM homemaker was Sharpsville church member

Margaret S. Jerome, Connelly Manor, 55 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon, formerly of West Middlesex, died at 11:06 a.m. Thursday (9-14-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 83.

Mrs. Jerome was born Sept. 24, 1916, in Youngstown to David and Florence Weaver Sinclair.

She was a graduate of Hubbard High School.

Mrs. Jerome belonged to First Presbyterian Church, Sharpsville; and was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Hubbard.

A homemaker, she belonged to the Homemakers’ Club of West Middlesex.

Mrs. Jerome enjoyed reading novels and playing cards.

Her husband, Thomas A., whom she married Jan. 5, 1946, died in 1993.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Janis) Mitcheltree, Sharpsville; and Margaret Lynn Wood, Reynoldsburg, Ohio; a son, Thomas D., Dublin, Ohio; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, William Sinclair; and a grandson.

Paul A. Pepe

Paul A. Pepe, 401 Independence Court, Sharon, died at 1:05 a.m. today (9-15-00) in his home. He was 80.

Barbara Lou Renkin Phillips

St. John’s member worked for Phillips Olds, Presbytery

Requiem Eucharist will be Monday (9-18-00) for Barbara Lou Renkin Phillips, 1562 Kimberly Road, Hermitage. She died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday (9-13-00) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 73.

Mrs. Phillips was born July 27, 1927, in Sharon to Robert Frederick and Edna Cooper Renkin.

The 1945 Sharon High School alumna retired in 1981 as office manager for the former Phillips Oldsmobile Co., Sharon, which was owned by her husband.

She served as a local Red Cross volunteer. More recently, she was resource director of Shenango Presbytery Office in Pulaski.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Sharon, where she served on the vestry and was a former Sunday school teacher.

She was an avid bridge player and belonged to several local card clubs. Mrs. Phillips also played with the Marathon Bridge Charities and F.H. Buhl Club, Sharon.

Her husband, William E. Phillips, whom she married July 21, 1947, died July 25, 1985.

Surviving are: two daughters: Linda Meaney, Ashtabula, Ohio; and Mrs. Wade (Nancy) Vogan Jr., Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Mrs. Francis X. (Carole) Petrini, Sharon; and eight grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Beth Ann Phillips; and a daughter, Mrs. William (Cathleen) Hamburg.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
