Today's obituaries Myrtle M. Bartholomew Woman was Old Salem, Legion auxiliary member Funeral will be Monday for Myrtle M. Bartholomew, 339 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, formerly of Speir's Mobile Home Park Lot 44, Transfer and the Fredonia area. She died Friday afternoon (11-10-00) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville after a period of failing health. She was 78. Mrs. Bartholomew was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Jefferson Township, to Eldon and Velma Seidle Fair. She attended the Old Salem United Methodist Church, Greenville and was a member of the Greenville American Legion Post 140 Auxiliary. Surviving are: two daughters, Alice V. Rohrbach, Rising Sun, Ind. and Edna (Harsh-Walker-Snyder) Blair, Fredonia; two sons, Albert Chester Harsh, Sheakleyville and Ralph V. Wiley, Milwaukee, Wis.; a brother, Frank E. Blair, Greenville; four half brothers, Meade Garrett, Tidioute, Pa.; Henry Garrett, Pulaski; James L. Garrett, Clark; and Wilbert R. Garrett, Edinburg; seven half sisters, Mrs. Louis (Sylvia) Martino, New Castle; Ms. Naomi McElrath, Volant; Maude Long, Dalton, Ga.; Mrs. Martha Aeschbacher, Edinburg; Mrs. Twila Everson, New Castle; Mrs. Ralph (Shirley) Baker, New Wilmington; and Mrs. Charles (Donna) Kirkwood, Edinburg; her mother, Velma Garrett, New Castle; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Bartholomew; her second husband, Dennis Wiley; and her first husband, Albert C. Harsh, whom she married in May 1941 and who died in 1943 in an industrial accident: her stepfather, Grover Garrett Sr.; an infant sister, Bernice Garrett; a brother Arthur C. Fair; and a half brother, Grover Garrett Jr.
BARTHOLOMEW John Paul Campbell Wolf Creek dairy farmer was college grad, auto worker John Paul Campbell, 1045 Clarksville Road, Hermitage, formerly of Grove City-Sandy Lake Road, Worth Township, died at 8 a.m. Friday (11-10-00) in his home following a brief illness. He was 82. Mr. Campbell was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Wolf Creek Township, to Andrew Lewis and Ruthie Mae Grace Campbell. He was a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, Chattanooga, Tenn. Retiring in 1994, Mr. Campbell was a self-employed dairy farmer. He previously worked at General Motors Corp., Flint, Mich. Mr. Campbell attended Calvary Fellowship Chapel, Mercer. Surviving are: his wife at home, the former Dolores June Grimm Hennegan, whom he married June 7, 1971; his first wife, Ermalee Jennings, Flint; a daughter, Mrs. Clyde (Joyce E.) Koontz, Fenton, Mich.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Douglas (Karen) Wooten, Sharon; three sons, Paul Campbell, Erie; David Campbell, Fontana, Calif.; and Martin L. Campbell; Indian River, Mich.; two stepsons, Jonathan L. Hennegan, Mercer and Kenneth C. Hennegan, Jackson Center; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. CAMPBELL Marjorie V. Fell Retired sales clerk sang in Orangeville UM choir Marjorie V. Fell, 2775 Gull Lane, Transfer, died at 5:25 a.m. Saturday (11-11-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 81. Mrs. Fell was born Aug. 28, 1919, in Sharon, to Hubert Higgins and Elizabeth Mullard Higgins Sherwood. A 1937 graduate of Farrell High School, she attended the Shenango Valley Business Institute. Mrs. Fell retired in 1978 from the former Strouss Department Store, Hermitage, where she was employed for 21 years as a sales clerk. She previously worked in the concession stand at the Reynolds Drive-In and Higgins Tire and Battery, Farrell. A member of Orangeville United Methodist Church, Mrs. Fell sang in the choir. She belonged to the Transfer Card Club and enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafts and bingo. Her husband, Darrell D. Fell, whom she married Sept. 8, 1939, died Nov. 22, 1998. Surviving are: three daughters, Darlene Ours, Adamsville; Shirley Shafer, Vernon, Ohio; and Margaret Dunham, Augusta, Ga.; a son, Darrell D. Fell Jr., Coffee Springs, Ala.; a sister, Carolyn DePofi, Vernon; a brother, William Higgins, Orangeville; nine grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maida Higgins and a grandson, Bobby Shafer.
FELL Hilda Grandy Hilda Grandy, 1124 Beechwood Ave., Farrell, died at 3:45 p.m. Saturday (11-11-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
GRANDY Wilda L. Jones Cedar Ave. church member worked as nurse's aide Funeral will be Tuesday for Wilda L. Jones, 735 Brookfield Ave., Masury, who died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (11-9-00) in Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, after a lengthy illness. She was 83. Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 24, 1916, in Marion County, Ga., to Sydney and Bertha Owens Adams. She was a former nurse's aide at Sharon Regional Health System. Mrs. Jones was a member of Cedar Ave. Church of God, Sharon. Surviving are: her husband, Troy J. Jones, whom she married Oct. 2, 1979; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Alda) Smith, West Middlesex and Mrs. Henry (Marcella) Etheridge and Alma Chambers, both Sharon; a stepson, Josh Jones, Masury; two sisters, Mrs. William (Florzel) Hyatt, Farrell and Clara Mae Truman, Los Angeles, Calif.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: four sisters, Emma Ledbetter, Mary Alli, Louise Seegers and Ruth McKinley.
JONES Anne E. Rossig Hermitage woman was St. John's Episcopal member Anne E. Rossig, 2400 Garden Way, Hermitage, formerly of Arkansas, died Friday (11-10-00) of an apparent heart in her home. She was 88. Mrs. Rossig was born July 23, 1912, in Sharon, to Michael and Mary H. Dravesky Evans. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon. In earlier years, Mrs. Rossig had been employed as a companion to the late Miss Grace Perkins. Surviving are: her caregivers, Mrs. Slyvia Price, Sharon and Mrs. Edythe Robb, West Middlesex. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Deason and brothers, John and Albert Evans.
ROSSIG Beatrice 'Bea' Talbert Wheatland woman served on Prince of Peace board Memorial service will be Thursday for Beatrice 'Bea' Talbert, 73 Mercer Ave., Wheatland. She died at 6 p.m. Thursday (11-9-00), in Clepper Convalescent Home, Sharon, due to a heart ailment. She was 66. Mrs. Talbert was born Dec. 6, 1933, in Edgewater, Ala., to Daniel and Lillie Pearl Anderson Williams Sr. She graduated from Reston Township (Pa.) High School. A member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, Mrs. Talbert was a former member of New Light Baptist, both Sharon. A former board member of the Prince of Peace Center, Farrell, she volunteered in the kitchen. Surviving are: her husband, Morris Talbert, Cleveland, whom she married in 1973; a daughter, Francine Talbert, Richmond, Va.; two sons, Samuel Rain, Farrell and Richard Rain, Washington, DC; two stepsons, James Talbert, Warren, Ohio and Morris Talbert Jr., New Castle; a sister, Lillian Burkes, Sharon; two brothers, Andrew Williams, New Castle and Ernest Williams, Filbert, Pa; two grandsons, whom she reared, Sean J. and Richard D.A. Rain, both Farrell; one great-grandchild; and her caregiver, Rochelle Wiley, Hermitage. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Porter, Sally Roller and Evelyn Williams; and six brothers, Daniel, Leroy, Mack, Nathaniel, James and Edward Williams.
