Today's obituaries Claus E. 'Ben' Bolt N.C. church member worked in Atlanta, had stepson here Claus E. "Ben" Bolt, Grove Manor, Grove City, died Wednesday (3-21-01) in the nursing home. He was 89. Mr. Bolt was born Oct. 26, 1911, in Kalamazoo, Mich., to Peter and Jantje Helm Bolt. The World War II veteran worked as a credit manager for General Foods in Atlanta. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd, Hayesville, N.C.; and AARP, the retired persons organization. Surviving are: his wife, Thelma A. Bolt, whom he married March 27, 1982; two stepsons, Dave Dayton, Grove City; and John Dayton, New Jersey; two stepdaughters, Carol Coffman, Ohio; and Judy Bracken, Texas; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Ralph and Peter; and a sister, Annie Bolt, preceded him in death.
BOLT Edward Joseph Koch Sharon Steel retiree was pilot, member of St. Bart's Mass of Christian burial will be Friday (3-23-01) for Edward Joseph Koch, 1101 Main St., Sharpsville. He died at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday (3-20-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. He was 81. Mr. Koch was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Farrell to Joseph and Theresa Mirage Koch. The 1937 Sharon High School alumnus retired in 1980 after working in the maintenance department for 26 years in the Farrell plant of the former Sharon Steel. He was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharpsville. Mr. Koch loved to fly and held a pilot's license. At one time, he built his own airplane. Mr. Koch also was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and bowler. Surviving are: his wife, the former Theresa Carbon, whom he married Aug. 30, 1941; two sisters, Betty Metelsky, Sharon; and Eileen Grande, Farrell; a brother, Joseph, Florida; two granddaughters, Michelle Schoenfeld, Charlotte, N.C.; and Lisa Schoenfeld, Chicago; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Frances Schoenfeld; three sisters, Catherine Pollock, Mary Thomczak and Dolores Serb; and three brothers, Walter, Robert and Frank.
KOCH Mary L. McGee Mary L. McGee, 91 Daugherty Ave., Sharon, died at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday (3-21-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 86. Obituary information was incomplete.
McGEE Frank John Reichart Sawhill retiree was Marine, member of Sacred Heart Funeral Mass will be Saturday (3-24-01) for Frank John Reichart, 1043 Buckeye Drive, South Pymatuning Township. He died at 11 a.m. Tuesday (3-20-01) in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was 76. Mr. Reichart was born Dec. 29, 1924, in Coal Valley, Allegheny County, to Arnold and Margaret Eschelbacher Reichart. He moved in 1933 to Brookfield and graduated in 1942 from Brookfield High School. Mr. Reichart served with the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater of World War II. He also served one year of the Korean War. Mr. Reichart retired in 1986 after 43 years as general foreman with AK Steel, Sawhill Tubular Division, Sharon. An active member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, he served as a Eucharistic minister, money counter, usher and men's council member. Mr. Reichart also was a charter member and first president of Sacred Heart basketball boosters. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7599 and enjoyed traveling. Surviving are: his wife, the former Patricia Louise Escover, whom he married June 9, 1947; four daughters, Mrs. James (Patricia L.) Clark, Sharon; Mrs. Thomas (Monica L.) Lauer, Butler; and twins, Mrs. Shawn (Rita M.) McCaffrey, Omaha, Neb.; and Mrs. Alan (Ruth A.) Varcholik, Wheatland; five sons, John A., Hermitage; Daniel M., Minerva, Ohio; Michael F., Sharpsville; Robert G., Farrell; and Thomas E., Brookfield; two sisters, Mrs. Warren (Betty) Kohler, Brookfield; and Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Scutillo, Hobe Sound, Fla.; three brothers, Arnold Reichart, Hubbard; William Reichart, Brookfield; and Edward Reichart, Masury; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Norman Reichart, who lived in Vienna. Mr. Reichart was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, faith and flowers.
