Pauline Bandzak
Holy Trinity Lutheran member lived in Hermitage

Pauline Bandzak, 2513 Walnut St., Hermitage, died Friday morning peacefully at the residence of her daughter with whom she lived. She was 93.

She was born Sept. 18, 1907 in Johnstown to John and Susan Zachik Hoyney.

Mrs. Bandzak was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, where she formerly belonged to the Ruth Altar Guild.

Her husband, John Bandzak, whom she married in April 1927, died in November 1973.

Surviving are: her daughter, Mrs. Merle (Elizabeth "Betty") Frye; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John P.; one brother; and four sisters.

Robert E. Everhart
Asphalt company owner had local customers

Robert E. Everhart, 61, of 10809 West Road, Albion, Pa., died from injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Thursday, July 26, 2001.

He was born in Wood, Pa., on July 12, 1940, the son of Virginia Everhart, Wood, Pa., and the late Robert Everhart.

He was president of Russell Standard Corp., Fairview and Union City, Pa.

His asphalt products company had customers throughout western Pennsylvania.

He was a life member of Albion Sportsman's Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 740, Edinboro-McKean. He was a member of PAAMA; PAPA; ARRA, all of which are associations in the asphalt industry. He was a member of National Rifle Association; Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Advisory Board of Community National Bank, Albion.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and motorcycling.

He is survived by Jonnilu Everhart; two children, Robert Everhart and his wife, Pam, Albion, and Christine Yost and her husband, Michael, Erie; two sisters, Patricia Houck and her husband, Ronald, Wood, Pa., and Linda Nichols and her husband, Nick, Washington, Pa.; a brother, Gary Everhart and his wife, Ruth, Scottsdale, Pa.; a dear friend, Linda Baker, Albion; and three grandchildren, Matthew Yost, Kelsey Everhart and Robert Everhart, Jr.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to a scholarship fund for his grandchildren, in care of Community National Bank, Albion, Pa., 16401.

Bessie C. Miller

Greenville homemaker was accomplished seamstress

Bessie C. Miller, formerly of 9 Penn Ave., Greenville, and Fairview, Pa., died at 4:10 a.m. Friday (7-27-01) in White-Cliff Nursing Home, Hempfield Township. She was 102.

She was born April 23, 1899 to William and Alice Miller Hause in Delaware Township.

A homemaker, Mrs. Miller was a member of Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church, Greenville. She lived in three centuries attributing her longevity to her faith in God.

She was a charter member of the Fairview Quilting Club. An accomplished seamstress, she made most of the clothing for her five daughters. She enjoyed flowers and gardening and lived a full life of loving and caring for others.

Her husband, Herbert L. Miller, whom she married on March 6, 1919, died Dec. 1, 1979.

Surviving are: four daughters, Mrs. Charles (Oleta) Higbee and Mrs. Robert (Dottie) LaSalle, both of Florida; Mrs. Homer (Jean) McDowell and Mrs. Horace (Alyce) Reichard, both of Transfer; one sister, Mrs. Ferne McCullough, Sandy Lake; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren; 2 stepgreat-grandchildren; one stepgreat--greatgrandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Melcena Ruhlman Scheidhauer; a sister, Nellie Haas; and three brothers, Clayton, Berlyn, and Gerald Hause.

Thomas A. Patterson
Cooper Industries retiree was Army veteran of WWII

SALEM, Ohio -- Funeral services will be held Monday for Thomas A. Patterson, Salem, formerly of Grove City and North Liberty, who died Thursday evening (7-26-01) in Salem Convalescent Center following an extended illness. He was 84.

He was born Sept. 8, 1916 to Wilbur and Mary Rebecca Beatty Patterson in Grove City.

Mr. Patterson was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School and served in the Army during World War II.

Before retiring, he worked 38 years for Cooper Industries as an erector.

Mr. Patterson was a member of North Liberty Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon and elder of the church.

His second wife, Elma Mae Forrest, whom he married Jan. 1, 1966, died in 1995. His first wife, Elsie Louise Christie, also preceded him in death.

Surviving are: one daughter, Audrey and her husband, Glenn McNany, Salem; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Carothers, Slippery Rock; Mrs. Dorothy McNeish and Mrs. Phyllis Osborne, both of Grove City; one brother, Richard Patterson, North Liberty; three grandchildren, Tom McNany, Cortland, Ohio; Scott McNany and Melanie Weingart, both of Salem; and two great grandchildren, Jennifer and Thomas Weingart.

Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Jane Midberry and Mildred Webster.

Joan Taylor

Wheatland woman retired from Sharon Regional

Joan Taylor, 103 Emerson Ave., Wheatland, a lifelong Shenango Valley resident, died at 1:22 a.m. Friday (7-27-01) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System.

She was born in Sharon to James and Elizabeth Hill Taylor.

Ms. Taylor received her certificate of General Educational Development from Farrell Area School District.

Before retirement in 1994, she was employed for 26 years in the housekeeping department of Sharon Regional Health System.

Ms. Taylor was a Jehovah's Witness and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are: her mother at home; one sister, Joyce Taylor, at home; and one nephew, Allen Taylor, Farrell.

She was preceded in death by her father; three sisters, Mary Tolliver; Delores McClendon; and Javon A. Taylor.
