Telesfor 'Frank' Franczek Sharon Steel retiree was WWII Army veteran Telesfor "Frank" Franczek, 15 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon, died at 9:39 a.m. Tuesday (1-8-02) in his home. He was 83. Mr. Franczek was born Oct. 3, 1918, in Farrell, a son of Stanley and Mary Kalinowski Franczek. He attended Farrell schools and retired from the former Sharon Steel Corp.'s Farrell plant. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during World War II. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. Edward (Irene) Zahuranec, Charleston. Mr. Franczek was preceded in death by his parents.
FRANCZEK Harvey L. Dawson Harvey L. Dawson, 1826 Powers Ave., Sharpsville, died at 2:44 a.m. Sunday (1-13-02) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 71. Obituary information was incomplete.
DAWSON Thelma S. Swartz Thelma S. Swartz, 2876 Saranac Drive, South Pymatuning Township, died at 11:30 p.m. Sunday (1-13-02) in her home. She was 90. Obituary information was incomplete.
SWARTZ Jane Lyman Voyten Ex-Sharon teacher was former member of St. Joe's Jane Lyman Voyten of 7642 Haverhill Lane, Canton, Mich., formerly of Sharon, passed away at 11:30 p.m. Saturday (1-12-02) in her home following an extended illness. She was 72. Mrs. Voyten was born July 29, 1929, in Sharon, a daughter of Raymond "Si" and Florence Gibbons Lyman. She was an alumna of Sharon High School Class of 1947 and graduated from what is now Slippery Rock University, where she earned a bachelor's degree and her teaching certificate. Mrs. Voyten was employed as an elementary school teacher for Sharon Area School District in its Wengler Avenue School. She enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, bridge and, most recently, the computer. She enjoyed designing her own greeting cards with her personal computer, as well as corresponding through e-mail with many friends. Mrs. Voyten was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Plymouth Mich., and was a former member of St. Joseph's Church in Sharon. Her husband, William L. Voyten, whom she married Nov. 27, 1954, survives at home. She also leaves: three daughters, Barbara Ziberna and her husband Keith, Raleigh, N.C.; Carol Pisarski and her husband Jan, Canton, Mich.; and Peggy Shanabarger and her husband John, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and one sister, Marion Nemetz, Hermitage. She was the proud grandmother of seven grandchildren, Brian and Matt Ziberna; LeeAnn and Katie Pisarski; and Rachel, Mary and Ann Shanabarger. Mrs. Voyten was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Florence Ann Scragg. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Arthritis Foundation; or to Hospice of Washtenaw County, Mich.
VOYTEN Margaret Ann Drabick Former Sharon woman was member of St. Ann's Church Margaret Ann Drabick, Masury, formerly of Sharon, died at 2:40 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002, in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury. She was 85. Miss Drabick was born March 23, 1916, in Ellsworth, Pa., to John and Mary Jupina Drabick. She was a member of St. Ann's Church in Farrell. Surviving are: two sisters, Helen Stefanac, Sharon; and Elizabeth "Betty" Repas, Farrell; and a brother, John Drabick, Sharon. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Miss Drabick was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Steve and George Drabick; and two sisters, Mary Kovach and Ann Wasko.
