Today's obituaries Blanche I. McGill Bodesheim Retired Lakeview teacher was former township secretary Blanche I. McGill Bodesheim, 2101 Sandy Lake-Grove City Road, Worth Township, died at 10 p.m. Saturday (7-22-00) from injuries sustained in a two-car crash at Millbrook Road and Route 173, Worth Township. She was 70. Mrs. Bodesheim was born Oct. 3, 1929, in New Castle to Leroy D. and Elnora Margaret McCormick McGill. A 1946 alumna of the former Sandy Lake High School, she graduated from Grove City College in 1950 and retired in 1986 from Lakeview High School, where she taught business classes including accounting, typing and computers since 1965. Mrs. Bodesheim also served as secretary for Worth Township supervisors from 1981-98. She was a member of Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City. Mrs. Bodesheim enjoyed quilting and traveling. Surviving are: her second husband, James L. Bodesheim, whom she married June 21, 1976; two sons, Stephen and Michael Polkabla; and a daughter, Mrs. Jerry A. (Catherine "Cathy") Saylor, all Grove City; two sisters, Helen M. McGill and Mrs. Theodore L. (Dorothy C.) Geibel, both Jackson Center; and 10 grandchildren. Her first husband, Stephen Polkabla, whom she married Aug. 25, 1951, died March 5, 1973.
BODESHEIM George Curaj George Curaj, 3597 Hadley Road, Perry Township, died Sunday evening (7-23-00) at home. He was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
CURAJ Josephine May Williams Esposito Bookkeeper at ex-store in Greenville was of Wheatland Josephine May Williams Esposito, 347 Vaughn Ave., Wheatland, died unexpectedly Sunday morning (7-23-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. She was 82. Mrs. Esposito was born July 5, 1918, in Greenville to Floyd and Lena Ralston Dunn. A 1936 alumna of the former Penn High School in Greenville, she was a bookkeeper for many years at the former Stones Maytag Store, Greenville. Mrs. Esposito was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and flowers. She was a Catholic. Her first husband, Clarence D. Williams, whom she married in June 1940, died Jan. 31, 1953. Surviving are: her second husband, Lawrence J. "Blues" Esposito, whom she married Aug. 3, 1983, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Merle E. (Margy) Peterson; and a grandson, Joseph T. Kepler, whom she helped rear, both Mercer; and two great-grandsons. Besides her first husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Charles T. (Esther) Hecker, who died 1½ years ago. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
ESPOSITO Agnes M. Javorsky Retiree formerly of Masury was St. Bernadette’s member Agnes M. Javorsky, John XXIII Home, Hermitage, formerly of Masury, died at 11:50 a.m. Sunday (7-23-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 87. Miss Javorsky was born Dec. 14, 1912, in Lloydell, Pa., to Martin and Susan Sivic Javorsky. She attended the former Beaverdale (Pa.) High School and retired in 1977 after 32 years from Bud Radio an electronics company, Willoughby, Ohio. Miss Javorsky was a member of St. Bernadette’s Church, Masury. Surviving are: a brother, Thomas, Union, N.J.; and two sisters, Mary Vojtko, Masury; and Kathryn Chunta, Cleveland. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Kachmarsky and Susan Wielgus; and a brother, John. Memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities in care of St. Bernadette’s Church, 7808 Locust St., Masury 44438.
JAVORSKY Ruth Arlene McFarland Law Former Brookfield woman worked for Warren hospital Ruth Arlene McFarland Law, Hickory Township RD 5, Lawrence County, formerly of Brookfield, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday (7-22-00) in St. Francis Hospital, New Castle, following a six-month illness. She was 81. Mrs. Law was born June 27, 1919, in Warren, Ohio, to Thomas Earl and Jessie May Leinberger McFarland. She was a purchasing agent for Trumbull Memorial Hospital, Warren; and previously was a secretary. Mrs. Law was a Methodist. Her husband, Harold Edwin Law, whom she married Feb. 28, 1942, died Aug. 1, 1970. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Judy) Shaffer, New Castle; a stepsister, Mrs. Al (Naomi) Neubaur, Westlake, Ohio; and a grandson. LAW Henrietta I. McCurdy Henrietta I. McCurdy, West Salem Township, died at 12:10 p.m. Sunday (7-23-00) in St. Paul Homes, West Salem Township. She was 84. Obituary information was incomplete.
McCURDY Juanita W. McIlvaine Slippery Rock Township woman was a homemaker Juanita W. McIlvaine, Home 2 Me, Slippery Rock Township, Butler County, formerly of Hendersonville, N.C., died at 2:24 p.m. Saturday (7-22-00) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, following a brief illness. She was 87. Mrs. McIlvaine was born Aug. 12, 1912, in Chilocothe, Texas, to Robert and Lily Moore Wickliffe. A homemaker, she was a Christian Scientist. Her husband, Paul M. McIlvaine, whom she married February 1937, died in February 1983. Surviving are: a daughter, Dr. Nancy Donovan, Oxford, Ohio; and two sons, Edward, Fletcher, N.C.; and Dr. Robert McIlvaine, Slippery Rock; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
McILVAINE Carol Jane Scriven Stevenson Homemaker had co-owned Hadley equipment business Carol Jane Scriven Stevenson, 830 Mitchell Road, Salem Township, died at 5 a.m. Sunday of natural causes (7-23-00) in the home of her sister and temporary caretaker, Mrs. Kenneth (Patricia) Manko, 671 Greenville Road, Hadley. She was 53. Mrs. Stevenson was born Feb. 16, 1947, in Geneva, Pa., to Lawrence and Lois Mangold Scriven. With her husband, Darrell Stevenson, whom she married May 10, 1975, she was a former co-owner of Stevenson Farm Implement, Hadley. He died Dec. 16, 1997. A homemaker, Mrs. Stevenson enjoyed crafts and was involved in a neighborhood knitting club and a social diet club with friends. She was a member of North Salem (Township) United Methodist Church. Surviving besides her sister Patricia are: a son, Kevin Hendricks, Sharon; and her mother; and another sister, Mrs. Lee (Maryejo) Miller, both Hadley. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her father. Memorial contributions may be made in care of North Salem (Township) United Methodist Church, Box 187, Sheakleyville 16151.
STEVENSON Meghan D. Urey Meghan D. Urey, 12 School St., Sandy Lake, died at 5:20 p.m. Sunday (7-23-00) from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 173, Mill Creek Township. She was 7. Obituary information was incomplete.
UREY Margery P. Walker Ex-Hubbard homemaker was active in church, Girl Scouts YOUNGSTOWN -- Margery P. Walker, The Inn at Christine Valley, Youngstown, formerly of 150 Creed Ave., Hubbard, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday (7-23-00) in Northside Medical Center following an extended illness. She was 82. Mrs. Walker was born May 12, 1918, in Youngstown to J. Howard and Pearl Mormon Bothwell. A 1936 alumna of South High School, Youngstown, she was a homemaker and a Girl Scout leader for many years. As a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Hubbard, Mrs. Walker served as Sunday school secretary and an officer for many years of Grace Lutheran Church Women. She also provided visitation and transportation for shut-ins of the church. For many years, Mrs. Walker volunteered for Meals-on-Wheels, Hubbard area. Her husband, William V. Walker, whom she married Oct. 23, 1942, died Dec. 6, 1998. Surviving are: two daughters, Joan Leslie, Canfield, Ohio; and Beverly Addicott, Palm Bay. Fla.; a brother, Robert Bothwell, Venice, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judith; a brother, Howard Bothwell; and a sister, Mildred Hitchcock.
