Harry A. Dummett WWII vet worked at GATX and lived in Findley Twp. A funeral service will be held Thursday for Harry A. Dummett, 1610 Mercer-Grove City Road, Findley Township. He died at 9:17 a.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in Woodland Place, Coolspring Township, following an extended illness. He was 78. Mr. Dummett was born July 24, 1924, in Wilkinsburg to William B. Dummett and Alma Gill Dummett. He was previously employed as a drill press operator at General American Transportation Corp.'s former Masury plant. A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Dummett served in the European theater of operations during World War II. He was of the Protestant faith. His wife, the former Betty Jane Barner, whom he married Oct. 29, 1946, survives at the residence. Also surviving are: three sons, Jack G. Dummett and his wife Ruthie; and Kenneth L. Dummett and his wife Ellen, all Grove City; and William A. Dummett, Franklin; two sisters, Mary Reiser, Mercer; and Helen, wife of Robert Barrett, Friendwood, Texas; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mr. Dummett was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Martha Porsch; and two brothers, William H. and Thomas C. Dummett. DUMMETT Rose A. Bianco Hoover Rose A. Bianco Hoover, Masury, formerly of 932 Haig St., Sharon, died of natural causes at 8:10 a.m. Tuesday (2-18-03) in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury. She was 93. Obituary information was incomplete.
HOOVER Paul Marenchin Sharon native, WE retiree, Mason owned Wis. resort PUNTA GORDA, Fla. -- Paul Marenchin of Punta Gorda died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, in Charlotte (County) Regional Medical Center. He was 85. Mr. Marenchin was born April 18, 1917, in Sharon. He had been a resident of Punta Gorda for 14 years, coming from Cable, Wis. He retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. and then opened his own resort in Lake Namakagon, Wis. He later drove a school bus. Mr. Marenchin also served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and was a volunteer at Charlotte (County) Regional Medical Center. He was also a proud member of Free and Accepted Masons. Survivors include: his wife of 62 years, Gertrude; three children, James and his wife Janice Marenchin, Rapid City, S.D.; Carole Marenchin, Punta Gorda; and Kathy Marenchin, Pine City, Minn.; a brother, Michael; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to American Heart Association, 59 N. Crescent Drive, Hermitage, Pa. 16148. No local services are scheduled at this time. Vane P. Latimer Ex-New Wilmington man was retiree, WWII veteran HAGERSTOWN, Md. -- Vane P. Latimer, 6836 Tommytown Road, Sharpsburg, Md., formerly of New Wilmington, died at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, 2003, in Clearview Nursing Home of Hagerstown. He was 91. Mr. Latimer was born Nov. 28, 1911, in Ellwood City, Lawrence County, to John Presley Latimer and Bessie Jones Latimer. He retired in 1976 from Mesta Machine of New Castle. An Army veteran, Mr. Latimer served during World War II. He was a Presbyterian by faith. His wife, the former Frieda Westen, whom he married in August 1933, died June 8, 1987. Surviving are: a daughter, Joyce O'Neil-Powers, Sharpsburg; two sons, David L. Latimer, New Wilmington; and Thomas D. Latimer, Demming, Wash.; a sister, Dorothy Vogler, Philadelphia; and 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Mr. Latimer was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Patricia K. Davidson, who died March 2, 2002; and six brothers and four sisters.
LATIMER Ronald Joseph Yarzab Navy vet worked for dairies in Brookfield, Pittsburgh Ronald Joseph Yarzab, devoted husband, father and grandfather, of 2776 Morefield Road, Hermitage, died at 10:45 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2003, in UPMC Horizon, Farrell, after an extended illness. He was 65. Mr. Yarzab was born July 13, 1937, in Sharon to Joseph Walter Yarzab and Violet Szatkowskis Yarzab. He attended Sharon High School and worked for the former Brookfield Dairy from 1963 to 1984 as a driver and salesman. He then went to work for Turner's Dairy in Pittsburgh from 1985 to 1996 as a supervisor. Ronald was a member of Local 205 of Teamsters union in Pittsburgh through Turner's Dairy. He also belonged to St. Adalbert's Church in Farrell; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166, Hermitage; and was a special member of Danny's Morning Hour Club of Sharpsville. A U.S. Navy veteran, he served from 1956 to 1960, receiving an honorable discharge, having served at Patuxant River, Md., as a jet mechanic. Ronald was an avid gardener who loved plants and flowers. Before becoming ill, he loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He made annual trips to Job, W.Va., to hunt with his sons. Surviving are: his wife, the former Laura May Heimburger, at home, whom he married July 7, 1961; a daughter, Rhonda Valerie and her husband David Banovich, Brookfield; two sons, Joseph Ronald and his wife Rhonda Yarzab, Fredonia; and George Gary Yarzab, Hermitage; a sister, Judith Ilene and her husband Robert Missory, Sharon; and seven grandchildren, Jolynn, Marie, Joseph, Alyssa and Brittany Yarzab; and Leah Kettering and Travis Shaffer. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved pets, CoCo and Cassy. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; and one infant son, Robert Yarzab.
YARZAB Mabel D. 'Mamie' Will Former local homemaker was flea market vendor STREETSBORO, Ohio -- Mabel D. "Mamie" Will, 9975 Greentree Parkway, Gardens of Western Reserve, Streetsboro, formerly of Lexington Drive, Hermitage; and Ormond Avenue, Sharon, passed away at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003, in the Gardens of Western Reserve. She was 83. Mamie was born March 9, 1919, in DuBois, Pa., a daughter of Daniel Holby and Alice Anderson Holby. Moving to Farrell in 1927, she was a 1937 alumna of Farrell High School. A homemaker, she was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Sharon. She and her husband were vendors at area flea markets, including Valley View in Brookfield. Mamie enjoyed the outdoors and was particularly fond of birds. She often watched and fed birds at her home, including a crow that she hand-fed. She also loved flower gardening and tending to plants. Her husband, John Michael Will, whom she married Feb. 7, 1939, died July 16, 2001. She leaves: one sister, Laura "Tootie" Bordy, Farrell; two grandsons, Jeffrey Longwell, Naples, Fla.; and Gregory Longwell and his wife Melinda, Hudson, Ohio; two great-grandsons, Tayler and Mason Longwell, both Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Michel Longwell and her husband Tom Longwell; one brother, Earl H. Holby; and two sisters, Florence Powell and Ruth Alexander. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, 12 E. Ninth St., Suite 304, Erie 16501.
WILL James V. Bartholomew James V. Bartholomew, 341 Baldwin Ave., Sharon, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday (2-18-03) in his residence. He was 86. Obituary information was incomplete.
BARTHOLOMEW Guy J. Marcantino Vietnam war vet retired from Babcock & Wilcox PULASKI TOWNSHIP, Lawrence County -- Guy J. Marcantino, 210 W. Cherry St., New Castle, died Sunday morning, Feb. 16, 2003, in Pulaski Township. He was 59. Mr. Marcantino was born Nov. 19, 1943, in New Castle to John Marcantino and Flora Cappatt Marcantino. He retired from Babcock & Wilcox, New Castle, as a carpenter after 25 years of service. A U.S. Army veteran, he served during the Vietnam conflict. He was formerly married to Kathy Santangelo, who survives in Sharon. Surviving are: a son, Guy J. Marcantino, Mercer; a brother, John Marcantino, New Castle; a sister, Doleres Marcantino, Hillsville, Pa.; and one grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents.
