Elizabeth Kirkpatrick, 1 Elston Way, Farrell, died at 5 a.m. today (8-18-00) in UPMC Horizon, Farrell. She was 85.

William John Kosiba Sr.

Westinghouse retiree formerly lived in Farrell

A private funeral service will be held today for William John Kosiba Sr., 557 S. Mercer Ave., Hermitage, formerly of Farrell. He died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday (8-16-00) at home following a brief illness. He was 84.

Mr. Kosiba was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Export, Pa., to John and Anna Zychal Kosiba.

He attended Farrell area schools and retired in 1981 after 36 years as a copper worker at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

Mr. Kosiba belonged to Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage; and was a former member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Sharon; and St. Adalbert’s Church, Farrell.

He also belonged to the Polish Home, Farrell.

Mr. Kosiba enjoyed gardening, bowling, fishing, walking and wild mushroom hunting.

His wife, the former Hedwig "Ida" Kurdupski, whom he married Feb. 14, 1943, died Dec. 24, 1997.

Surviving are: a daughter, Jo Anne, Hermitage; two sisters, Alma, Portland, Ore.; and Betty Routh, Louisiana; a brother, Rudolph, Portland; and a grandson.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, William J. Jr.; and three brothers, Walter Kosheba; and Anthony and Leonard.

Paul Pyle, 725 Dogwood Lane, Hermitage, died Friday (8-18-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 75.

Helen E. Tommelleo Tuscano

New Castle homemaker had daughters living here

HERMITAGE -- Helen E. Tommelleo Tuscano, New Castle, died Thursday morning (8-17-00) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 78.

Mrs. Tuscano was born Nov. 5, 1921, in New Castle to Thomaso and Maria Zeppetella Tommelleo.

For 22 years she was a secretary for Mahoningtown School, New Castle School District.

A homemaker, Mrs. Tuscano participated in the Girl Scout program, New Castle.

As a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish of St. Lucy Church, New Castle, she belonged to its Ladies Guild and Holy Rosary Society.

Mrs. Tuscano enjoyed bowling.

Her husband, Charles N. Tuscano, died March 1976.

Surviving are: two daughters, Mary Ellen Hammond, Hermitage; and Charlyne Dresch, Sharpsville; a brother, Tom Tommelleo, New Castle; two sisters, Lucy Rainey and Delphia Isbella, both New Castle; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Louis, Tony, Rocco and Arthur Tommelleo.

    Mrs. Charles N. (Helen E. Tommelleo), 78, New Castle.
