Today's obituaries Mary E. Borke COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Mary E. Borke, 3379 Broadmoor Ave., Columbus, died at 10:15 p.m. Thursday (7-27-00) in Mount Carmel Medical Center. She was 79. Obituary information was incomplete.
BORKE Helen Heims Conway Survived by 61, homemaker had son living in Transfer NEW CASTLE -- Helen Heims Conway, 1331 E. Washington St., New Castle, died at 9:58 p.m. Wednesday (7-26-00) in St. Francis Hospital. She was 87. Mrs. Conway was born May 24, 1913, in Eau Claire, Pa., to Ralph and Laura Mars Heims. She was a homemaker and a Christian. Her husband, Earl E. Conway, to whom she was married for 34 years, died in 1968. Surviving are: two daughters, Laura Crawford and Patricia Hedglin, both New Castle; four sons, Frank, James and Arthur, all New Castle; and Roy, Transfer; two sisters, Vera Bridges, New Castle; and Hanna Johns, Youngstown; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Phillip Hedglin; a sister, Lila Trover; and three brothers, Walter, Ralph and Roy Heims.
CONWAY Edward J. Donnelly Retired Golden Dawn owner was active St. Joe’s member Funeral Mass will be Saturday for Edward J. Donnelly, 347 Case Ave., Sharon. He died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday (7-26-00) at home following an extended illness. He was 84. Mr. Donnelly was born July 4, 1916, in Sharon to William and Helen King Donnelly. He attended St. Joseph’s School in Sharon and was a 1934 alumnus of Sharon High School. Mr. Donnelly retired in 1986 after 34 years as owner and operator of Donnelly’s Golden Dawn store, Hermitage. An Army veteran, he served as a master sergeant in the South Pacific during World War II. As an active lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon, Mr. Donnelly was the first president of the church council and served as a Eucharistic minister. The member of Knights of Columbus Council 684 in Sharon also belonged to Fourth Degree Sharon Assembly. Mr. Donnelly was a member of the board of directors of Prince of Peace, Farrell; and Kennedy Christian High School Boosters Club, Hermitage. He was an avid golfer, having scored two holes-in-one. Mr. Donnelly also enjoyed fishing and was a former member of the Century Club at Pymatuning Lake. Surviving are: his wife, the former Alice M. O’Brien, whom he married July 17, 1948, at home; four daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Julia) Hattrup, Maple Glen, Pa.; Mrs. H. Donal (Jane Alice) Lewis, Columbus, Ohio; Mrs. Robert (Molly) MacDonald, Norfolk, Mass.; and Carole, Pittsburgh; three sons, Edward J. and James M., both Cleveland; and Attorney David T. Donnelly, Mount Lebanon; three sisters, Mrs. William (Dorothy) Ogg, Helen and Adahl, all Sharon; two brothers, Robert, Sharon; and Joseph, Hermitage; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen; a sister, Mary Louise Wassil; and two brothers, William and Frank "Hank."
DONNELLY Irene Louise Molinaro Dunworth Homemaker was member of St. Michael’s Church ERIE -- Irene Louise Molinaro Dunworth, formerly of Greenville, died Thursday (7-27-00) in Forestview Skilled Nursing Center, Erie. She was 80. Mrs. Dunworth was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Soldier, Pa., to Joseph and Louise Paylor Molinaro. The homemaker was a member of St. Michael’s Church, Greenville. Her husband, George G. Dunworth, preceded her in death. Surviving are: a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Mary) Jezerinac, Erie; a son, Dr. Robert, Gray, Tenn.; four brothers, Henry, John and Francis Molinaro, all Punxsutawney; and Eugene Molinaro, North Little Rock, Ark.; three sisters, Marlene Scarantine, Niagara Falls, N.Y.; Virginia Lukehart, Pittsburgh; and Connie Gaskin, Plano, Texas; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. DUNWORTH Mary Heben Mary Heben, Masury, formerly of Cedar Avenue, Sharon, died at 1:05 a.m. today (7-28-00) in O’Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury, following an extended illness. She was 85. Obituary information was incomplete.
HEBEN Johanna Eve Marino LAKELAND, Fla. -- Johanna Eve Marino, 734 Cedar Knoll Drive, Lakeland, died at 2:48 a.m. today (7-28-00) at home. She was 88. Obituary information was incomplete.
MARINO Rev. Paul O. Martin Longtime Reading pastor had brother living in Masury READING, Pa. -- The Rev. Paul O. Martin, 361 N. Second St., Reading, died at 10:30 p.m. Sunday (7-23-00) at home following a lengthy illness. He was 78. Rev. Martin was born Dec. 15, 1921, in Winston-Salem, N.C., to Walter and the Rev. Mary Jane Galloway Martin Sr. One of the first organizers of the black Church of God congregations in Reading, he served as associate pastor of North Eighth Street Church of God, and for the last 25 years as pastor of Pine Street Church of God, both Reading. Rev. Martin retired in 1982 after 35 years from Garden State Tannery, Reading. Until 1997, he was a self-employed contractor for 15 years. Surviving are: his wife, the former Dorothy Olivia Warren, to whom he was married for 53 years, at home; a son, David L., Clearfield, Utah; a daughter, Paulette, Reading; a brother, Osborne Sr., Masury; a sister, Gladys Martin Mitchell, Reading; a grandson; and two stepgrandsons. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas W.; and several sisters and brothers. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday (7-27-00) in Mountain View Church of God, Reading, with the Rev. Noah W. White Jr., retired pastor and family friend, as eulogist; assisted by the Rev. Carl Hines Jr., deceased’s nephew; and Minister Mildred Robertson, deceased’s niece. Burial was in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton, Pa.
Mike Petrosky Sharon Steel retiree was Navy vet, lived in Hermitage Mike Petrosky, 820 S. Neshannock Road, Hermitage, died at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday (7-26-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 78. Mr. Petrosky was born May 9, 1922, in Farrell to Frank and Pauline Lesijko Petrosky Sr. He retired in 1981 after 42 years from the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant, where he was a train engineer and open-hearth furnace operator. A Navy veteran, he served in Europe, stateside and in the Pacific, during World War II. He belonged to American Legion Post 162, Sharpsville; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Hickory Post 6166, Hermitage. He was a lifetime member of St. John’s Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, Sharon; and belonged to Local 1197 of United Steelworkers. Surviving are: his wife, the former Anne Varsho, whom he married Sept. 2, 1950; two daughters, Bettie Anne Lutz, Brookfield; and Paula K. Gurneal, Hermitage; a sister, Mary Chupak, Wilmington, Pa.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Michael, who died in 1980; two sisters, Ann Bobby and Kay; and five brothers, infants Andy and John; and Charles, Frank and John. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. John’s Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church, 725 Cedar Ave., Sharon 16146. PETROSKY Mike, 78, of 820 S. Neshannock Road, Hermitage.
