Theodore "Ted" D. Hinds, 815 W. Main St., Grove City, died at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002, in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, after a brief illness. He was 85.

Mr. Hinds was born Oct. 17, 1916, in Grove City to Samuel K. Hinds and Catherine Young Hinds.

A graduate of Grove City High School Class of 1934 and Grove City College Class of 1939, he retired in 1979 from Cooper Energy Services Reciprocating Products in Grove City, where he was a metallurgist tester and a lab technician for 39 years.

As a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Grove City, Mr. Hinds belonged to the Methodist Men's organization and served as a former Sunday school superintendent. He was also active with Grace Church Food Pantry.

Mr. Hinds also belonged to Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1579; and Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 603, all Grove City; Scottish Rites New Castle Consistory; and a life member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1637, Mercer, where he served as a past governor.

He was also active with Boy Scouts of America.

His first wife, the former Jessie McGinty, whom he married in November 1961, died June 24, 1964.

Surviving are: his second wife, the former Ellen L. Yeager, whom he married Oct. 14, 1966, at home; three stepchildren, Dan McGinty, Cedar Hill, Texas; Berte Moore, Plum Boro, Pa.; and Thomas E. Moore, Mercer; 10 stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his first wife, Mr. Hinds was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, William, Charles and Chandler Hinds; and four sisters, Nellie Eakin, Virginia Chapman, Georgia Hinds and Twila McNeil.

Patrick 'Denny' Mastroianni

'67 graduate worked

for Sharpsville business

Patrick "Denny" Mastroianni, 2264 Custer Orangeville Road, Hartford Township, died at 3:48 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29, 2002 in UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, of natural causes after an extended illness. He was 52.

Mr. Mastroianni was born Oct. 4, 1949, in Sharpsville to Patrick D. Mastroianni and Dorothy E. Skarosi Mastroianni.

He was a graduate of Sharpsville High School in 1967 and attended Youngstown State University.

Mr. Mastroianni was employed for 20 years by C.W. Management in Sharpsville.

He was of the Protestant faith.

He was an avid sportsman and loved gardening, cooking, camping and the outdoors. Mr. Mastroianni also loved children.

Surviving are: his wife, the former Pamela A. Neil, whom he married Aug. 19, 1978; a sister, Sheryl L. Wilson, Sharpsville; a brother, Marc David Mastroianni, Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ralph Wiseman

WWII veteran of Brookfield retired from Ohio company

Ralph Wiseman of 6742 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield, died at 3:25 p.m. Sunday (9-29-02) in O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, Masury. He was 82.

Mr. Wiseman was born Feb. 1, 1920, in Hubbard, a son of Ralph and Velma Kidd Wiseman.

Following graduation from Brookfield High School in 1939, Ralph served our country during World War II in our U.S. Army, achieving rank as a staff sergeant.

Mr. Wiseman retired in 1983 from Wean United, Austintown, Ohio, where he had worked as a crane operator.

He attended Brookfield Christian Church. In his spare time, Ralph enjoyed golfing, gardening, landscaping, plowing snow and helping other people.

His wife, Jean E. (Christy) Wiseman, whom he married Aug. 2, 1946, died April 4 of this year.

Survivors include: four sons, Ralph C. "Skip" Wiseman and his wife Dianne, Cortland; Don A. Wiseman and his wife Kathryn, Sharpsville; Larry V. Wiseman and his wife Gail, Melbourne, Fla.; and Jeff L. Wiseman and his wife Mary, Brookfield; one brother, James F. Wiseman and his wife Dorothy, Mineral Ridge, Ohio; a sister, Doris Burton, Youngstown; eight grandchildren, Chris and Carrie, Michelle and Michael, Brittany and Lauren and Matthew and Danny; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Ryan and Jesse.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Paul and Gene Wiseman.
