Today's obituaries Carlyle R. Albert Illinois native was meat inspector, had son in Farrell Funeral will be held at the convenience of the family for Carlyle R. Albert, Nugent Convalescent Home, Hermitage, formerly of Palmetto, Fla. He died at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday (11-14-00) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a brief illness. He was 78. Mr. Albert was born Sept. 1, 1922, in Mount Olive, Ill., to Guido and Lyda Huesler Albert. A 1940 alumnus of Mount Olive High School, he was a manager for 20 years for LaMar Hair Styling Co., Minneapolis; and retired in 1989 after 15 years as a state and federal meat inspector in Illinois. The Army veteran, Mr. Albert was a medic during World War II. He belonged to Loyal Order of the Moose; and was a 50-year member of Free and Accepted Masons, both Florida and Illinois. Surviving are: a son, Reed, Farrell; a sister, Marguerite, Wood River, Ill.; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Madison Barlow Jr. Madison Barlow Jr., Buchanan Commons, Grove City, formerly of Sharon, died at 8:40 a.m. Wednesday (11-15-00) in United Community Hospital, Pine Township. He was 54. Obituary information was incomplete.

BURGER William ‘Chauncey’ Carrier Sr. Hartford Twp. man, WWII vet was Republic Steel retiree William "Chauncey" Carrier Sr., 5223 Brockway Sharon Road, Hartford Township, died at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday (11-15-00) at home of a heart attack. He was 86. Mr. Carrier was born Aug. 24, 1914, in Atlantic to Fenn William and Lida Ellen Fausnaugt Carrier. He retired in 1975 after 32 years as a mechanic for Republic Steel, Warren, Ohio. An Army veteran, Mr. Carrier served in the 80th Quartermaster Company in Europe during World War II and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3535, Hartford; and Hartford Township Volunteer Fire Department. He assisted his wife, the former Dorothy M. Ferry, whom he married March 3, 1945, with Lake to River Council of Girl Scouts of America. Mr. Carrier enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Surviving besides his wife are: a daughter, Marylouise Newton; a son, William C. Jr., both Hartford; three sisters, Bertha Stallsmith and Olive Allison, both of Linesville; and Vida Stallsmith, Maryland; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. CARRIER William Peter Chesmar Jr. Former Clark man attended Sharpsville High School ATLANTA, Ga. -- William Peter Chesmar Jr., Decatur, Ga., formerly of Clark, died at 10:15 p.m. Sunday (11-12-00) in Grady Health Care System following an extended illness. He was 39. Mr. Chesmar was born Sept. 7, 1961, in Sharon to William and Verna Hoover Chesmar. He attended Sharpsville High School. Surviving are: a companion, Ron Foisia, Decatur; his father, Clark; two sisters, Carla, Sharon; and Catherine Chesmar-Sheldon, McKean, Erie County; and his grandmother, Catherine Chesmar Renshaw, Hermitage. He was preceded in death by his mother. A cremation was held. There were no services or burial. HORN Raymond Johnson Sr. Obituary was published 11-14-00 Mr. Johnson retired in 1979 after five years as superintendent of the former Shenango Steel Inc., Sharpsville. He was previously a general foreman at the plant. Additional information was given to the funeral director.

Miller, 899 Pine St., No. 1003, San Francisco, died at 9:50 a.m. Nov. 5, 2000, in St. Francis Medical Center of a heart ailment. He was 85. Mr. Miller was born Oct. 17, 1915, in what is now Clark to Henry and Martha Calverly Miller. He retired after 38 years of federal service for the Department of the Navy Military Sealift Command, Pacific, Oakland, Calif. (MSCPAC) and worked eight years for the Navy. A veteran, he served as a captain during World War II and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts. Mr. Miller enjoyed watching sporting events, fishing and playing golf. Surviving is his wife, the former Helen M. Ratti, at home. A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday (11-13-00) in San Francisco. Burial at sea and memorial services will be held at a later date. Robert Allen Moore Packard retiree of Warren had relatives living here WARREN, Ohio -- Robert Allen Moore, 1448 Arthur Drive NW, Warren, died at 7:20 p.m. Monday (11-13-00) in Trumbull Memorial Hospital of apparent heart failure. He was 66. Mr. Moore was born Oct. 15, 1934, in Pine Township, Armstrong County, to John E. and Florence R. Oliver Moore. He retired in 1992 after 24 years from Delphi Packard Electric Systems, Warren, where he was a punch press operator and buncher. A Navy veteran, Mr. Moore served from October 1954 to August 1962. He was a member of Buckeye Tole Painters Association; and NorthMar Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, both Warren. Mr. Moore was a Cleveland Indians fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing and painting. Surviving are: his wife, the former Susan Flasck, whom he married July 7, 1973; a daughter, Molly Megan, Warren; two sisters, Annabelle Franklin, Panama City, Fla.; and Shirley Miller, San Bernardino, Calif.; a brother, John, Panama City; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Shenango Valley. MOORE John H. Reed Active Bethany Presbyterian member worked in GC John H. Reed, 815 Greenville Road, Coolspring Township, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday (11-14-00) in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, following an extended illness. He was 75. Mr. Reed was born March 31, 1925, in Findley Township to Thomas Herman and Rose E. Mutter Reed. The alumnus of Grove City High School was a parts manager for Snyder Oldsmobile and the former Kimes Chevrolet, both Grove City. Mr. Reed also was a safety director for the former Tajon Trucking; and worked for the former Jordan Brothers Garage, both Grove City. An Army veteran, he served in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Reed was an active member of Bethany Presbyterian Church, Mercer. Surviving are: his wife, the former Barbara Fry, whom he married June 5, 1950; a son, David, Mercer; four sisters, Martha and Mary Jane, both Mercer; Nancy Mills, Naples, Fla.; and Margaret Campbell, Otis, La.; and two brothers, Donald, Mercer; and Ronald, Kent, Wash. He was preceded in death by an infant son; two sisters, Sarah Murray and Matilda Vechnak; and two brothers, Richard and Thomas.
